Train-the-Trainers session of the Student Development
Program 2013
More than 120 Alumni took out their precious time from
work to attend the Train-the-Trainers session of the
Student Development Program (SDP) on 17th August and
24th August. Student Development Program, organized by
Career Development Centre in collaboration with the
Alumni department is aimed at enhancing, ameliorating
and honing the skills of the freshmen to help them
towards becoming a true ambassador of IBA. The Alumni,
as coaches, would provide undergraduate and graduate
students with confidential, developmental 360 degree
feedback in order to enhance their overall leadership,
teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
The training sessions of the coaches started at 2.30 pm
sharp and were expertly conducted by mentors Jami Moiz
and Lalarukh Ejaz, both having been trained at a similar
exercise at Babson College (USA). Their energy and
passion for the event shone through in the way the
session was executed. The main purpose of the activity;
to increase students’ self-awareness, to guide them to
reflect on their behavior, and to help in their personal
and professional development, was reiterated throughout
the session and a live mock exercise was also conducted
at the end to provide a hands-on experience to the
coaches (participants) of the actual exercise. The Q & A
session concluded the day with the coaches actively
engaging in constructive dialogue with the mentors as
well as with their fellow coaches. Finally, the evening
came to end with a Hi-Tea/Networking session sending the
Alumni in a wave of nostalgic memories of their
alma-mater as they walked the corridors of IBA once
again.
