Consultancy is quite common in the developed countries and it is now strongly penetrating in to the emerging markets. Due to wide services and solutions availability, the candidate has a wide variety to choose and can build his/her career. Regional and global assignments give chance to the grow and exposure to different cultures in different countries.
Q. What pre requisite courses need to taken to help students to enter this career path? (Courses/ certifications that help in this field)
Courses like:
• Economic planning
• Financial management
• Business process management (BPR etc.)
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Statistics (with real world practices)
• Public sector management
• PMP certification
• CISA, CISM etc.
Q. Do employers have a preference for certain individuals? (CGPA or a specialized Bachelors or masters requirement)
Yes, mostly prefer CGPA of 3+. Ofcourse, specialized degree has much more worth in the consultancy world comparatively to a simple MBA.

• Rodney Rahman, MD Mazars Consulting (it is a fact without any favor to my company) has been in this consultancy field from early 80s.

Opt to join consultancy firm and do the Certifications like PMP, CISA, CIM, CFA etc. You will soon come to know that you have chosen a unbelievable career path.
