Q. What to expect at the entrant level? (Ups and downs during the early years)
The new comers shall not be very enthusiastic about the salary and the package. The industry itself offers perks and benefits with the exposure. The more you serve in an industry, the better command you get over the performance, ultimately the other market players give you good perks on the basis of your knowledge and expertise.

Q. Explain the Career progress that is typical to this field? (Growth pattern/ promotion chances/ overseas placements)
The career progression is based on the good industrial contact you have. You need to be on your tows all the time. The peers in the industry tell you about the immediate job openings. Sometimes, your immediate boss also lines up an interview in other banks. Well, for that you need to be very good with your boss.

Q. What pre requisite courses need to taken to help students to enter this career path? (Courses/ certifications that help in this field)
Analysis of Financial Statements, Financial Management, Risk Management, Economics etc.

Q. Do employers have a preference for certain individuals? (CGPA or a specialized Bachelors or masters requirement)
For entrant level may be YES. But for the job switch, all matters is your exposure, contacts (net-working), overall personality, and industry exposure.

Q. Who are the industry leaders and trend setters in this field? (Companies that need to be looked out for)
No-one is an industry leader. We all are the performers, some are good performers, and some are average performers. The good performers are off-course rewarded and are promoted. As far as the job-switch is concerned, I have already mentioned the 3-most important factors earlier. However, a good resume is the one, who doest have three-four companies on it, during its first four beginning & crucial years of job experience. This show commitment and learning pace.

Q. Any advise that you can offer to current students?
Never switch a job for the sake of salary package, industry gives you the rewards itself, once you get the desired exposure. Experience doesn’t have any substitute.
