The IBA alumni affairs department along with the Alumni and Placement Society arranged an alumni reunion in Lahore on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Avari Hotel Lahore.
A large number of alumni attended this meet up. The Executive Director, IBA Karachi, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, along with Director Alumni, Resource Mobilization & Corporate Relations, Ms. Malahat Awan warmly welcomed the alumni to the event.
Dr. Zaidi addressed the gathering and said that IBA is no longer just a business school but is a fully fledged interdisciplinary University. Dr. Amjad Saqib, Founder, Akhuwat Foundation and Mr. Zafar Masud, President & CEO, Bank of Punjab, were the guests of honour.
Mr. Zafar Masud thanked IBA for the valuable education, the memories, and an overall unforgettable experience. Mr. Masud appreciated IBA’s tradition of excellence and stated that the IBA alumni are performing exceptionally well across the globe.
Dr. Amjad Saqib spoke about the importance of empathy and giving back to the society. He said that as a society we should not be concerned about what others are doing but as individuals we should continue to play our part in the uplift of our country.
The event was also attended by the candidates of Alumni Election 2022 (for the position on the BOG) who presented their manifesto and expressed positive intentions for the betterment of IBA.
The Deans of the two schools Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khoja (School of Mathematics and Computer Science) along with Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh (School of Business Studies) also attended the event and spoke to the guests about the direction of travel and vision of the new schools. They believe that the IBA has been striving to provide quality education and will continue to do so.
It was heartening to see so many IBA alumni under one roof who got the opportunity to meet old friends, share personal and professional experiences, and recall & relive their memories.
