9 June 2023, Islamabad: Alumni come together to celebrate their peers and relive cherished memories. The IBA Alumni & Placement Society hosted a reunion for Islamabad-based alumni and its surrounding regions to come together and reconnect to share memories and rekindle old friendships. The event took place at the Best Western Hotel with over 90 guests in attendance. The event brought together professionals from a wide array of industries ranging from fintech, to telecommunications, to manufacturing. Guests from across the decades were present to connect with old and new alumni alike.
Mr. Raza Chinoy, President of the Islamabad Alumni Chapter, welcomed the guests and thanked them for showing up in such a healthy number. He spoke about the various initiatives launched by the chapter as well as informing them about the upcoming chapter elections and the intention of passing on the reigns to fresh blood. The event was also noteworthy due to its celebratory nature recognizing alumni who had done wonders in their respective fields. Alumni recognized that night included Mr. Shahzad Kiani (CEO & MD, AAA Associates), Mr. Amir Khan (President, HBL Microfinance Bank), Mr. Muhammad Arshad (CEO, PM Health Program), Ms. Shahnaz Kapadia Rahat (Founder, Mera Maan), Mr. Ali Raza (CEO, PSEB) and Mr. Khurram Rahat (Managing Director, Unifonic). Each alum shared fond memories of their time at IBA and how their experience at the university formed their mindset that helped them succeed in their chosen fields. The guests of honor pledged their support to the development of IBA through their time, expertise, equity and finances. The event included notable guests including Mr. Asad Umar (notable politician & former CEO Engro). Ms. Yasmin Zafar, Patron of the Alumni & Placement Society, spoke a few words to close the event and encouraged alumni to stay engaged.
