As has been the tradition, Dean and Director IBA Karachi, Dr. Ishrat Husain hosted a dinner in honor of the newly appointed Chairman, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Mr. Arif Ellahie, IBA Alumnus 1985 on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Sind Club, Karachi.
Mr. Ellahie assumed the charge of PNSC on March 12, 2015, moving on from his previous position as the chairman of Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).
To celebrate this momentous achievement, some prominent IBA Alumni and friends of Mr. Arif Ellahie were also invited including former Federal Minister, Mr. Wajid Jawad, Mr. Mian Mahmood Hussain, Managing Director, Rasul Flour Mills (Bake Parlour), Mr. Faiq Hussain, President, Islamic Modarba, Mr. Zaki Sharif, Chief Executive, Anzo Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Tahir Ahmed, Director, Tri Star Industries, and Mr. M.Naseem Khan, Director Business Development, Hawk Advertising. Brig(r) Rashid Ahmed, Director Administration, PNSC, Dr. Zaheeruddin Asif, Program Director, Alumni Affairs and Mr. Haris Siddiqui, Manager Alumni Affairs was also present at the occasion.
While attendees were all praises for the recent transformation of the IBA, they shared anecdotes from their heyday, what lessons they learned during their years at IBA and how their success can be owed to their alma mater. Dr. Ishrat informed the guests about the academic and infrastructural developments at IBA and requested the Alumni to play an active role in maintenance of these newly set standards.
