Hard work and talent may get overlooked in the short term but will never not pay in the long run.
Good grades (GPA) help enter the right organization at the right level but once you are in, it is your EQ that matters as much as your IQ. In other words, longer term career success and your initial academic brilliance are not very strongly correlated!
