We are honored to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our alumni at the IBA Alumni Excellence Awards 2024, which recognize individuals who exemplify leadership, innovation, service, and societal impact.
IBA DISINCTION AWARDS – Celebrating Excellence in Leadership and Enduring Support to IBA
Tariq Kirmani (Class of 1968) – Chairman, Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. and Pakistan Refinery Limited
He brings over five decades of distinguished leadership in the energy and corporate sectors. He has held senior roles at Chevron, led the transformation of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) as its MD & CEO, and served as Chairman & CEO of Pakistan International Airlines. He currently chairs both Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. and Pakistan Refinery Limited, and has served on several boards, including the IBA Selection Board for many years.
Nassir Salim (Class of 1986) – President & CEO, HBL Habib Bank Limited
He assumed the role of President & CEO of HBL in March 2024. With over 36 years of global and domestic banking experience, he has held senior positions at American Express Bank, Citi, and ADIB - Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. Since joining HBL in 2017, he has led multiple strategic initiatives and continues to drive the bank's transformation.

Farrukh Sabzwari (Class of 1992) – CEO, Pakistan Stock Exchange - PSX
Acknowledged for his strategic leadership in Pakistan’s capital markets and regulatory framework.
Syed Taha (Class of 1998) – Managing Director & CEO, Pakistan State Oil
Honored for leading Pakistan’s largest energy company through innovation, growth, and sectoral transformation.
Philanthropic Excellence
Dr. Muhammad Imran , Ph.D. (Class of 1998) – Group Head, Islamic Banking, Bank Alfalah Limited
Recognized for his leadership in Islamic finance and continued support for philanthropic causes and community development.
Athletic Achievement
Tabarak Ur Rehman Chaudhry (Class of 2018) – Ultra-marathon Runner
Tabarak became the first person to run 1,000 miles across Pakistan, completing an ultra-marathon each day for 35 days. His journey raised over $750,000 for The Citizens Foundation, supporting the education of more than 5,000 out-of-school children. He concluded this historic run at the IBA Convocation.

Connect Hear is a pioneering social enterprise that bridges the communication gap between the Deaf and hearing communities through sign language interpretation, education, and tech-based solutions.
Entrepreneurial Initiatives
Hamza Abdul Rauf (Class of 2020) – CEO, Telemart
Founder of Telemart, one of Pakistan’s leading e-commerce and retail platforms. Hamza has built the country’s largest BNPL and smartphone financing ecosystem and is driving digital inclusion by empowering over 1 million retailers nationwide.
