The IBA Islamabad Alumni Chapter successfully hosted an engaging and memorable Iftaar reunion on March 10th at Yum, F-7 Islamabad.

The event saw an impressive turnout, bringing together a diverse group of esteemed alumni — from accomplished professionals to recent graduates — fostering an atmosphere filled with camaraderie and warmth. The event was meticulously organized by the Islamabad Chapter under the leadership of Raza Chinoy (Chapter President) and his dedicated team, including Shabbir Halai, Zaid Shahid, Owais Zaidi, and Khawar Sher. The gathering also featured a distinguished guest list, including notable alumni such as Amir Khan (CEO, HBL Microfinance), Khuram Rahat (Senior Country Director at Unifonic), Mehwish Owais (CHRO, The Hive), Babur Aziz Beg (Chief Accounts Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Shahnaz Kapadia Rahat (CEO, Mera Maan). We were also honored to have Abu Bakar, CEO of PSEB, in attendance. He expressed his admiration for IBA’s lasting legacy and the remarkable impact its alumni continue to make across various industries.

Malahat Awan, Director of Alumni Affairs and Resource Mobilization, delivered an insightful address, underscoring the pivotal role of alumni in fostering a strong and connected community. She emphasized how alumni engagement — through mentorship, financial support, and career guidance — cultivates a culture of support and solidarity for future generations. Reflecting on the significance of Ramazan, she highlighted the values of generosity and compassion, reminding everyone of the importance of collective efforts to ensure no member of the community is left behind.

The evening was enriched with nostalgic conversations, as alumni revisited cherished memories of their time on campus — recalling influential mentors, transformative experiences, and lifelong friendships. The event was a true celebration of the enduring IBA spirit, reaffirming the importance of staying connected and contributing meaningfully to our alma mater and the broader community.

We look forward to continuing this tradition of fellowship and collaboration, strengthening our bonds, and inspiring the next generation of IBA graduates.
