June 19, 2022: IBA US alumni chapter organized a multi-city reunion that brought more than 250 alumni and their families together. Alumni from the class of 1964 – 2019 attended the event. It presented an opportunity to reconnect with the community and commemorate their time together. The US alumni resonated with interest in advancing IBA's role in higher education and keep on engaging with other alumni chapters in the future.
Rehan Zafar, President of the US alumni chapter, led the initiative with support from various regional coordinators and Shahbaz Nadir, Alumni Engagement Lead. Some notable audience members included Javed Asraf, Director IBA 2000-2002, and former faculty members such as Mazhar Jami, Siraj Narsi, and Salma Mirza, who attended the event from Houston and Dallas. The event aired videos introducing the candidates for the Alumni Representative position on the IBA Board of Governors. Ali Allawala and Adeel Rasheed, IBA alums and Founder and Chairman respectively of the Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP), were also in attendance from Pakistan and provided an overview of their organization to the audience from Washington DC.
Shazia Mohsin, Vice President of US Chapter also discussed with the audience several programs being initiated to keep the alumni community more closely involved with their alma mater and some of the goals short listed for the year. The alumni from other cities were connected via zoom call and expressed their continued support for these initiatives. The evening provided an ambient networking opportunity for alums to share their journey and professional ambitions.
