IBA Alumni Shine at the inaugural launch event of IBA Alumni Qatar Chapter at the Pakistan Embassy

October 11, 2025, Doha, Qatar: The Pakistan Embassy hosted IBA Alumni Qatar Chapter's inaugural launch event with senior diplomats, alumni and business leaders from the community in attendance. The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Aamer, Pakistani Ambassador to Qatar, along with Mr. Syed Mustafa Rabbani, Deputy Head of Mission.

The event included senior leadership from IBA Karachi where a panel discussion was hosted by Mr. Munaf Usmani, Office-bearer IBA Alumni Qatar Chapter. Panel attendees included Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director IBA Karachi, Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, Dean of School of Business Studies, and Mr. Mohammad Sohail, Alumni Representative on IBA's Board and CEO of Topline Securities. The panel discussion was enlightening discussing the potential for Pakistani talent and business in Qatar, as well as the revolutionary changes at IBA Karachi that is key towards developing Pakistan's human potential globally. Ms. Malahat Awan, Director IBA Alumni Affairs, Resource Mobilization and Corporate Relations was also in attendance and addressed how the alumni are IBA Karachi's strongest asset and ambassadors of the institution globally leveraging its legacy and heritage of 70 years.

The panel discussion was followed by an amazing networking session and dinner where alumni were able to rekindle old connections while developing new bonds as well. Distinguished guests at the event included several CEOs of local and international banks and other high ranking officials from public and private companies. Mr. Adeel Esbhani and Mr. Kashif Zubair, both alumni of IBA, attended the event flying in from KSA and USA respectively to meet the community.

The event was a major success thanks to the efforts of the organizing committee that included IBA alumni Munaf Usmani, Muneeb Hassan Khaliq, Ghazala Zaman, Mariyam Khan Baloch, Abdullah Soomro and Asim Abbas who's efforts enabled an 80+ person strong turnout and a meticulously organized event that was professionally executed.
