Ghazal Islam

Ms. Ghazal Islam is an IBA Alumna of MBA Class of 1986

It's been a long time since I visited IBA. Though I left IBA thirty-three years ago, it has not left me for a day. Thirty-three years hence I can safely say that the best time of my life was spent on the campus. Running through the corridors for the fear of running late or shedding tears in the canteen for the fear of failing an hourly were common sights but we all in the end would leave campus smiling.

We were the first batch that was chosen for the BBA program and in the first week of attending the campus our hopes of ever graduating had started to dwindle; but four years hence we all graduated.

We had realized that with discipline and some intelligence we could face the challenging years ahead of us. I would like to mention here with much fondness Mr. Naqvi and Mr. Spencer. They were true mentors and though over the years we forgot what was written in the books we never forgot what they taught in terms of facing the challenges of life.

IBA gave us a bond that has kept the year 1986 very special in our hearts. Each one of us is across the continents but we have remained connected.

There was never a dull moment in the classrooms and something exciting would always happen. With all the discipline and relentless work there were many happy days.

To those who are new to IBA my message is "you are simply lucky" Enjoy these years for they will become a part of your memory that will give you plenty to smile about.

Thirty two years hence the class of 86 is still smiling and missing the wonderful corridors of IBA.
