IBA bids farewell to Dr. Izhar Hussain

August 26, 2019: The IBA organized a farewell for the outgoing Director of Center for Executive Education (CEE), Dr. Izhar Hussain at the Main campus. Dr. Hussain has a decade long association with the Institute.

The farewell was widely attended by the Executive Director, Associate Deans, Heads of Departments (HoDs), faculty and staff members. Attendees included ED Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, ADs Dr. Sayeed Ghani and Dr. Huma Baqai, Director HR Mashooque Bhatti, Director Finance Moeid Sultan, HoD Corporate Relations and Communications Department Malahat Awan, Controller of Examination Abdul Wajed and Acting Director CEE Jami Moiz.

Reminiscing over her long association with Dr. Hussain, Associate Dean Dr. Baqai quoted him as her mentor, friend and a supporter. Praising him she said, "If I am recognized today as a corporate trainer, it is only because of him and the confidence that he had in me". She also lauded the efforts of CEE and how the Centre has diversified over the years and has trained parliamentarians, air force personnel, and senate employees among others. She also said that Dr. Hussain will always be remembered as a friend of the Institute.

Team member CEE, Academic Director Family Managed Business Aysha Anas Iftikhar spoke on behalf of the CEE family and credited Dr. Hussain as someone who empowers his employees, especially women to make empowered and independent decisions.

Manager Skills Development Program CEE, Sumera Muhammad thanked Dr. Hussain on behalf of the entire CEE team and appraised him as a mentor rather than a boss.

In his farewell speech, Dr. Hussain thanked the Almighty, the IBA and his colleagues for his successful tenure at the Institute. He thanked the Executive Director and former Dean Dr. Ishrat Husain for having faith in him. Shedding light on the CEE's achievements as well as the challenges, he said "IBA has an established place in the public sector but we now need to target the corporate sector and work more on the centre's social media marketing front".

Executive Director Dr. Iqbal praised the leadership of Dr. Hussain and said, "I always found Dr. Hussain open to new ideas and avenues, which resulted in CEE branching out and offering executive training in Family Managed Businesses and many other streams. It was the same spirit of open-mindedness which has brought CEE to its current successful state".

The ceremony culminated with tokens of appreciation being presented by the Executive Director and the CEE team to Dr. Hussain.
