A dinner was held on Tuesday, May 15, where the new office bearers introduced themselves to the alumni. Graduates from 1964 - To date were present on the occasion and welcomed the new team. Mr. Haris Tohid Siddiqui, Senior Manager, Alumni Affairs and Mr. Arsalan Ashraf, Executive, Resource Mobilization, IBA Karachi were also present.

Mr. Siddiqui informed the audience that the Alumni Lahore Chapter was the first alumni chapter to be constituted by the IBA Karachi in 2009. Over the years, concerted efforts were made by the IBA to rejuvenate the chapter, encourage the resident alumni to come together and engage as a group. Many small and big reunions were organized, recent one in May 2017, where more than 500 alumni and their families attended. Unfortunately, after every reunion, resident alumni were not able to capitalize on the effort made by the IBA and to date no office bearers have taken the mantle.

Afterwards, the new office bearers, briefly introduced themselves to the audience and vowed to take the Chapter to new heights. Some of the senior alumni narrated how they established a chapter in the 70ís and organized many successful engagement events. The senior alumni gave their candid feedback to the new office bearers on how to function the Chapter.

Mr. Raza Chinoy, President Islamabad Alumni Chapter, was also present at the occasion. He informed the audience that when he and his team formulated the Islamabad Chapter they had only a handful of contacts. However, after years of continuous effort and active engagement, attendance of alumni and their families has bloated to hundreds. He advised the new office bearers that perseverance is the key to running an active chapter.

The event culminated with a dinner where alumni reminisced their good old days at the IBA especially the hostel.
